How I Teach
History is about telling stories, and I enjoy sharing the stories of history. I strive to get my students to reflect on their stories through the filter of history with its changes and how some things remain the same.
I am dedicated to designing techniques to help students learn by exploring and questioning. My background in Philosophy and Law influences my classes to center around research and debate.
My goal is to provide guidance toward student-driven independent inquiry. I focus on learning themes and context while getting students to debate differing ideas. My students work on preparing presentations and projects while also learning research techniques.
In each of my classes, my students build writing, reading comprehension, map reading, and debate skills. I promote utilizing technology in meaningful ways to ensure student learning.
